Amalgmated Regional Trading (ART) Holdings Limited

ART Holdings was incorporated as Beachmont Trading Limited in the British Virgin Islands in 1997, and changed its name to Amalgamated Regional Trading (ART) in 2001 by special resolution of shareholders. On 30 September 2001, ART acquired TZI's interests in its wholly owned subsidiaries Art Investments (Mauritius) Limited and Chloride Central Africa, bringing battery manufacturer Chloride (established 1963) into the group. ART has since grown into a diversified Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed industrial group spanning batteries, stationery, tissue and hygiene products, and forestry resource management, with manufacturing and distribution operations across Zimbabwe and Zambia and product distribution into Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa.

Corporate structure

ART operates through several manufacturing and distribution units: Chloride Zimbabwe and Chloride Zambia (lead-acid batteries, established 1963), Exide Express (battery retail), Eversharp (paper and plastic stationery), Softex Zimbabwe (tissue products), Kadoma Paper Mills and Mutare Board & Paper Mills (paper manufacturing), National Waste Collection, and Mutare Estates (forestry resource management). The Group is governed by a Board of Directors; as of the 2026 half-year results, Chairman Dr Thomas Utete Wushe (in the role since 2015) resigned and an Acting Chairman was appointed on 12 May 2026.
