Edgars Stores Limited was founded by Sydney Press, with the first Edgars store opening in Bulawayo in 1946. The company went public in 1974 and listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, where it traded under the ticker EDGR for decades. Edgars delisted from the ZSE effective close of trading on 3 April 2024 and migrated to the US dollar-denominated Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), where it continues to trade as EDGR.vx.
