Hippo Valley Estates Limited

Hippo Valley Estates was established in 1956 and has grown into a leading sugarcane farming and milling enterprise in Zimbabwe's Lowveld region, listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange under ticker HIPO. Tongaat Hulett Sugar is the largest shareholder, owning 50.35% through its subsidiary Triangle Sugar.

Corporate structure

Hippo Valley Estates cultivates approximately 12,000 hectares of sugarcane, with operations spanning cane growing and milling, game hunting and safari activities, citrus cultivation, sugar packing and distribution under the Sunsweet brand, cattle ranching, and water treatment services. Its products are exported to the United States, Europe, the DRC, Kenya, Burundi, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. The company is governed by a Board of Directors and operates within the Tongaat Hulett group structure, which also manages Triangle Limited in Zimbabwe.
