Distributed Power Africa was founded in 2017 as the renewable-energy arm of the Econet group, supplying solar power systems to commercial, industrial and residential customers, with activities extending into Zambia, Kenya and South Africa; DPA Southern Africa was held jointly with the French utility EDF.

The listed vehicle, Distributed Power Africa Limited, was subsequently reorganised as the holding company for Econet Wireless Zimbabwe's infrastructure assets and now trades as Econet InfraCo. The reorganisation brought the group's telecommunications towers, renewable energy operations and real estate holdings together under one company.

Econet InfraCo published its pre-listing statement on 4 February 2026, was admitted to the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange on 27 March 2026 and began trading on 31 March 2026 under the code INFR.VX at a valuation of about US$1 billion — the largest initial listing in the history of Zimbabwe's capital markets.

In its first quarterly trading update after listing, for the quarter ended 31 May 2026, the company reported the deployment of 90 new telecommunications base stations while accelerating investment in solar power and in artificial-intelligence-driven infrastructure management.

Corporate structure

Econet InfraCo owns, operates and manages Econet Wireless' national portfolio of telecommunications assets and describes itself as Zimbabwe's largest private infrastructure group, spanning towers, power and real estate.

The group delivers through three businesses. Econet Towers is responsible for new site builds, site maintenance, security and site acquisition. Distributed Power Zimbabwe handles power systems, fuel and energy optimisation, clean-energy system design and deployment, and technology upgrades. Econet Properties manages the overall property portfolio, co-location agreements and contract administration, together with title, leases and infrastructure asset integrity.

Management priorities are stated as unlocking shareholder value, increasing tenancy and co-location, power-systems expansion, operational excellence and cost efficiency, portfolio management and expansion, and ESG and sustainability commitments.

No dated corporate timeline for INFR yet. The company history above is drawn from the issuer’s own filings and published record.
