General Beltings Holdings Limited

The company was incorporated as General Beltings (Private) Limited on 24 June 1968, with its original Donnington, Bulawayo factory established by Balatros GmbH of Hamburg, Germany, initially manufacturing products under the Balatros brand. It acquired the SABS 1173 product mark in 2000, and in July 2005 General Beltings merged with Cernol Chemicals (Private) Limited; the combined holding company was renamed GB Holdings Limited on 6 August 2007. In August 2024, long-serving Chairman Godfrey Gaviro Nhemachena retired after nearly 20 years in the role.

Corporate structure

GB Holdings operates through two divisions: General Beltings (rubber and plastics products) and Cernol Chemicals (chemical manufacturing and trading). The Group is headquartered at 111 Dagenham Road, Willowvale, Harare, and is governed by a Board of Directors with day-to-day operations led by the Group Managing Director.
